About our service
The Car Detective is a vehicle sourcing service. We help individuals and businesses find and purchase vehicles by searching the market, negotiating with dealers, and managing the process on your behalf. We work for you, not for the dealership.
We do not sell vehicles directly. We are not a licensed car dealer. Our role is to source and negotiate on your behalf as your representative in the buying process.
Enquiries and quotes
Submitting an enquiry through our website is free and comes with no obligation. Providing a quote or a shortlist of vehicle options does not lock you into anything. You’re under no obligation to proceed until you’ve decided to go ahead.
Our fees
Our service fees will be clearly communicated to you before any work begins. By choosing to proceed with our service, you agree to the fees as discussed and confirmed in writing.
Finance referrals
If you ask us to connect you with a finance broker, we may make an introduction to a trusted third party. The Car Detective does not provide financial or credit advice and is not a licensed finance broker. Any finance arrangement is between you and the broker directly. We recommend you seek independent financial advice before committing to any finance product.
What we are responsible for
We take care in sourcing vehicles and negotiating on your behalf, but we cannot guarantee the availability of any specific vehicle, delivery timeframe, or that any particular deal will be achievable. Market conditions, dealer stock, and external factors are outside our control.
We are not responsible for any issues that arise after a vehicle has been purchased and delivered, including mechanical faults, manufacturer defects, or disputes with a dealership or lender. These are matters between you and the relevant party.

Intellectual property
